On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Mission’s 42nd Foundation Day, MGM Cloverdale School had the honor of attending an inspiring lecture by renowned educationist and environmentalist Mr. Sonam Wangchuk, held at the Rukmini Auditorium on Friday.
Delivering a powerful talk on “The Power of Ideas,” Mr. Wangchuk captivated the audience with his vision for a future-focused education system. He also engaged in an open and insightful conversation with students, answering their questions with warmth and wisdom.
In his address, Mr. Wangchuk emphasized the importance of real-world learning, urging educators to go beyond textbooks and foster practical, life-ready skills. He introduced the idea of the “Three Hs” – Head, Hands, and Heart – a holistic approach that encourages students to think deeply, act skillfully, and lead with compassion.
He highlighted that this philosophy is rooted in India’s own educational traditions, standing in contrast to the Western emphasis on the “Three Rs” (Reading, Writing, and Arithmetic). Mr. Wangchuk called for a reimagining of education in alignment with Indian values, expressing confidence that such a shift would restore India’s role as a global leader in learning and innovation.
The event left a lasting impression on all who attended and reinforced MGM Cloverdale’s commitment to nurturing thoughtful, skilled, and empathetic learners.
